Stage two of the Tay St Pak’N Save car park expansion is under way. Foodstuffs South Island Ltd manager for property and retail development Roger Davidson said Invercargill-based contractor South Roads began preparing the ground for the 2700sqm bitumen extension of the current car park following the demolition of the Salvation Army Citadel building last September. When completed in eight to 10 weeks, the new car park would include an extra 89 vehicle parking spaces, he said. The work would also involve realigning current parking aisles and the installation of extra lighting and signage, Mr Davidson said.
