THE exterior of the Invercargill City Council (ICC) civic administration building is in need of repair, infrastructure and services committee members were told at a meeting last month.
A report presented to the committee identified the need for new exterior doors, leaking, draughty windows be replaced with double-glazed windows, and failed sealant on the exterior of the building be removed and repainted. The work was estimated to cost $1,857,000.
ICC building assets manager Paul Horner said the committee requested staff prepare a detailed report outlining the work required before it would approve the project. Once approved, it was hoped the work would be completed before the end of the financial year on June 30 next year.
