NINETY-SIX players from throughout the South Island, including six New Zealand development team members and past winners dating back to 1983, will take part in Bowls Southland Invercargill Licensing Trust Charity Pairs Tournament, which starts on Friday, November 3.
It will be played at the Waverley, Woodlands, Waihopai, Waikiwi and Northend Bowling Clubs with finals at Waihopai from 2.30pm on Sunday. The public is welcome to attend.
Ten Southland charities will this year benefit from $6975 raised by Bowls Southland.
Tomorrow, the New Zealand development players will share some bowling skills with 50 St Joseph’s School Years 5 and 6 pupils at the Southland Bowling Club from 1.30pm-3pm.
