COOKS proved too strong for University in a premier grade rugby league game played in Invercargill last Saturday.
The stage was set in perfect conditions when Cooks opened the scoring virtually straight after the referee blew the opening whistle. Cooks kept up the momentum and had seven tries on the board at half-time.
University tightened up on their defence in the second half, with Cooks only adding one more try.
The final score in the fast-flowing game was 38-8.
South Pacific Raiders defaulted to Winton/City in the early game.
