The Bowls New Zealand development players were in the city for the 40th Bowls Southland Invercargill Licensing Trust Charity Pairs tournament, which was held over the weekend.

As part of the celebrations, the development players shared bowling tips with 50 Year 5 and 6 pupils.

Bowls Southland executive officer Karen Witham said the players enjoyed the southern hospitality.

“They are hoping to get invited next year too. We had some exceptional players here and good battles,” Mrs Witham said.

Northend Bowling Club member Trevor Tomlins and invited player Shaun Scott won the tournament.

Ten Southland charities will benefit from $6975 raised by Bowls Southland.latest jordansNike WMNS Air Force 1 Shadow White/Hydrogen Blue-Purple
