James Hargest College won Table Tennis Champs

James Hargest College (JHC) was the overall winner of the Table Tennis Southland Years 7 and 8 School Championships held last week.

Sixteen teams from JHC, Southland Boys’ High School, Verdon College and Menzies College
took part in the championships.

The James Hargest College 1 team of Ingamar Siegruhn and Danny Richardson won the Boys Section from the SBHS Red team of Riley Smith and Kaydn James. In the semis JHC 1 had defeated SBHS White (Quinn Lucas & Luke O’Connor) while SBHS Red defeated JHC 2 (Eamonn Thwaites & Ethyn Middlemiss). SBHS White went on to finish third with JHC 2 fourth.

The James Hargest College 1 team of Caitlin Hartley and Ella Sutherland was also victorious in the Girls section over the school’s JHC 3 team of Renei Henderson and Neave Rowland. JHC 1 had defeated Menzies 1 (Bree Bastiaansen and Rhiannon Soper) in the semi while JHC 3 beat JHC 2 (Brianna Loan & Brittney Kett).

JHC 2 ended the tournament third in the Girls Section with Menzies 1 fourth.
