KEEPING Ki O Rahi alive, Southland secondary schools took to the court this week for a fast-paced inter-school tournament of the traditional Maori sport.

Ten teams from across Southland took part in the competition, including Aurora College, Te Wharekura O Arowhenua, and Riverton’s Aparima College.

The tournament was introduced to Southland about seven years ago and was derived from Maori mythology – The Legend of Rahi
