THE New Zealand Synchronised Swimming Championships was held at Splash Palace last week.

Invercargill’s Phoenix Synchronised Swimming Club won seven gold, six silver and five bronze medals.

Coach Kirstin Anderson said it was a huge achievement.

Club chairwoman Michelle Anderson said the venue was perfect. “These results are a testament of the hard work done over the years,” she said.

More than 150 competitors took part, including swimmers from China and New Caledonia.
