Town v Country
THE town ladies got the better of their country counterparts at the annual Town vs Country fixture played at Wyndham on Monday, with the town team taking a 14-10 win.
Town beat Country 5.5-2.5 in the morning’s foursomes, while the afternoon’s singles proved much closer, with Town getting the edge 8.5-7.5 Silver division individual winners were Robyn Boniface, Kate McGregor, Wendy Fairweather, Naoko Anderson and Jill Goodall for Town, and Anita Fraser and Sheree Hemi for Country (Olivia Frost (Town) and Bronwyn O’Brien (Country) squared. In the bronze division, Hoana Ayto and Pam Cracknell got wins for Town, and Susan Racz, Paddy Craig, Sandra Young and Faye Dudfield took the wins for Country. Jo Raines squared with Julie Braithwaite and Colleen Emmerson squared with Judy Matthews.

The Mitre 10 Winton Drummond New Year tournament tees off at 1pm on December 27. The tournament is a stableford format and is open to men and women. Queries can be made to email@example.com.

Welcome in 2021 with the Waikaia New Year’s Day tournament. The January 1 tournament has a 12.30pm tee-off and was a stableford format, open to all. Entries could be made on the day.
The Te Anau Summer Golf Classic is new on the calendar and would take place on January 2. Sponsored by Mitre 10 Te Anau, this is a two-day tournament with a 4BBB and medal, open to teams of two. Entries were to close this week, but inquiries could be made to Dawn@dockbaylodge.co.nz.
On January 3, the popular Husband and Wife, Men’s and Mixed Couples 4BBB tournament would be played at Mataura Golf Club. Sponsored by A&S Ferguson Mitre 10 Gore, this was usually a very fun day out. Entries can be made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Waikaia Switzers Cup would be played on January 9, at Waikaia Golf Club. With a 12.30pm tee-off time, the tournament includes nett and stableford prizes of
Riversdale Golf Club was set to hold the Riversdale Holiday Tournament on January 10. The tournament is a 4BBB format, tees off at 1pm and was open to teams of two of any combination.
