Southland Women’s Masters
SOUTHLAND has named a strong team to contest the New Zealand Women’s Masters tournament.
Robyn Boniface (Queens Park), Robyn Pullar (Invercargill), Olivia Frost (Invercargill) and Helen Baird (Dipton) will line up for Southland when the national event tees off at the Northland Golf Club on April 9.
The team is unchanged from the one named for the tournament last year, however the tournament was postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions and a new date could not be found, leading to the event being cancelled.
The southerners will be looking to make up for that this year, and return to their winning ways of the past dominated this event in recent years, however fell slightly off the pace in 2019.
MLT Vice President’s Pennants
THE Mataura Licensing Trust Vice President’s Pennants will tee off this weekend, with the first round being played at the Invercargill Golf Club.
Invercargill will play Winton, Queens Park Y will play Mataura, Greenacres will play Queens Park X and Gore will have the bye.
Junior Summer Series
ALL junior golfers, whether new to the game or more experienced, are encouraged to head along to Gore Golf Club on Sunday for the second round of the Junior Summer Series.
There will be a six-hole team ambrose event for those just wanting to give it a go, a nine-hole event for handicap and non-handicap players played off age and stage appropriate length courses and an 18-hole event for those with handicaps under 28.0.
The event (just $10 per player) promises to be a whole lot of fun so make sure you’re there.
