2021 MLT Pennants champions decided
THE finals of the MLT-sponsored Vice President and Handicap Pennants competitions were played in great conditions at Gore Golf Club on Sunday.

Greenacres won the Vice President Pennants, beating Mataura 4/2 in the final. Third place went to Winton who beat Queens Park 4.5-1.5 in the third place playoff.

Gore took out the Handicap Pennants title with 222 from runners-up Greenacres on 224, with third place Riversdale and fourth Riverton.

The Handicap Pennants Division placings were: division one was won by Tokanui with Tuatapere second and Hedgehope (1) third; division two was won by Gore with Riverton second and Mataura (A) and Nightcaps third-equal; division three winner was Hedgehope (2), with Lumsden second and Drummond third.

Greenacres’ Shaun Cowley was the leading individual in division one, Gore’s Thomas Nichol was the best in division two and Lumsden’s Jeff Sinclair best in division three.

DRUMMOND Golf Clubs annual meat tournament is being played on Monday, June 7.

With the field capped at 32 teams, this popular event often fills quickly.

The three-person ambrose is open to men, women or mixed teams. There is a barbecue lunch, an evening meal and great meat prizes. Tee-off is 10.30am. Entries to Murray Anderson on 0272 017 323.

Queens Park is holding a par 3 stableford tournament on June 7, open to teams of three (men, women or mixed).

Tee-off is 11.30am, with the best two scores counting. Entry is on the day.
