Phoenix Synchro dominated the championships

Members of Phoenix Synchro Southland display the medals they won at the South Island Synchronised Swimming Championships in Dunedin this month during a training session at Splash Palace aquatic centre on Saturday, June 25.

Head coach Kirstin Anderson said the 21-strong synchronised swimming team dominated the championships, achieving a podium finish in every event it entered, winning 12 gold, six silver and three bronze medals.

The event attracted about 50 competitors from four South Island clubs – Christchurch, Queenstown, Dunedin and Southland.
