THOUSANDS of netball fans were treated to their favourite team returning home to play in Invercargill last weekend.

Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel took to the court on Friday night, beating the Northern Mystics 51-47.

The team was not as successful on Saturday evening with a 49-34 loss against Central Pulse.

The game on Saturday marked Abbey Erwood’s 50th appearance for Steel and also saw all 12 players make it out on to court in front of the home crowd.
