TWO Southland-based vets with a passion for helping animals have gone above and beyond their regular duties.
Maddie Jardine, of Waikiwi Vet Services in Invercargill, and David Granby, of VetSouth in Gore, completed the Christchurch Marathon on Sunday to raise money for the Wildlife Hospital in Dunedin. The hospital cares for native animals from throughout the South Island.
The pair reached their fundraising target of $2500 on Monday.
The money would help fund a new intensive care unit at the hospital, Miss Jardine said.
The unit, which Miss Jardine hoped would be ready by the end of the month, would enable vets volunteering at the hospital to treat animals with more serious injuries on site.Running sportsadidas NMD Human Race
