WEEKEND harness racing has been a rarity in the early part of the season in the south but the next two Sundays will feature quality racing for those looking for a good day out.
The Invercargill Harness Racing Club will be first up on Sunday, November 8, with a full programme of 10 races at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill.
The first race is timed to start at 12.05pm with the last scheduled for 4.43pm.
The weekly Farmers’ Market, which is held on the racecourse every Sunday from 9.30am until 1.30pm, will also be happening on the day so the public can take in the various stalls and stay on to enjoy the racing.
The following Sunday (November 15) will see the Winton Harness Racing Club hold its first weekend meeting of the season at Central Southland Raceway in Winton, with a full day of racing planned.
With the next weekend date in the region not until Saturday, December 19, the next two weekends give harness racing fans who are unable to attend midweek meetings a great opportunity to make it to the track to enjoy a couple of days of great racing.
Admission to the course on both days is free.
