Winton raceway to host harness racing action

THE Winton Harness Racing Club will hold its first weekend meeting of the season at Central Southland Raceway in Winton on Sunday.

The first race is timed to start at noon with one of the highlights of the day the Gold Chip Handicap Trot Final for a stake of $12,000 over a distance of 2400m.

A range of food and beverages would be available on course with the public bar stocking homemade pizzas and pies, and a coffee vendor would be on course.

The meeting will be followed by another at the course, a twilight event from 2pm, on Thursday, November 19.

Admission to the course on both days would be free.
