NOMINATED for Best Foreign Language Film at this year’s Oscars, Tanna was filmed entirely on the island of the same name in the South Pacific. It follows Wawa, a girl from one of the last traditional island tribes, who falls in love with the chief’s grandson, Dain. When Wawa is unknowingly betrothed as part of a peace deal, the young lovers run away together. Hunted down, they must choose between their hearts and the future of their tribe.
