FINAL preparations are under way ahead of Kmart’s official opening in Invercargill at 8am tomorrow.
The Kmart shopping complex is at 15 Clyde St, bordered by Forth, Liddel and Wood Sts.
The complex will also house eight smaller tenants, including Muffin Break, St Pierre’s Sushi, K Chicken, Shake Shed & Co (formerly known as Wendy’s), Ten Ten Thai Street Food, Stirling Sports and M M Barber Express, as well as an ANZ automated teller machine and 147 undercover car parks.
“It is a relief to have Kmart open and I wish them every success here,” Paul Smith, of Windermere Holdings, said.
Windermere Holdings was developing the complex for Kmart.
M M Barber Express would be the only smaller tenant open on Friday, with fit-out work still to be completed on the other stores.
“Unfortunately a number of smaller stores will not be open (on Friday) due to delays in receiving consents for fit-outs,” Mr Smith said.
