WHILE some small businesses around the south are finding times tough, one Winton retailer is bucking the trend.

The Designer Bank, which opened in Winton three years ago and specialised in designer women’s clothing, has just completed a new development which would see the fashion store expand its floor space by almost a third and move into adjoining premises.

Owner Janine Walker said she was excited to be able to grow her business, but put her success down to a devoted customer base.

“I’ve got amazingly loyal customers, both in Southland and around New Zealand, who have continued to support me through the Covid lockdown and beyond.

“That ongoing support has given me the confidence, and the drive, to go ahead with the shop expansion.

“I feel grateful that while times have been tough for so many with Covid, my customers have been there for me.

“This new development is a great way to say ‘thank you’, with many locals saying it’s positive to see new growth in Winton.”

The development included the addition of spacious new changing rooms and a sitting area, where customers were invited to relax and put up their feet.

“It’s an exciting way to begin 2021, and I’m so happy to be able to bring this to the province,” she said.jordan SneakersTHE SNEAKER BULLETIN
