FOR many a place of peace and reflection, the efforts of the Kew Bush restoration will be acknowledged with the installation of a new sign.
For the past two decades, volunteers have worked to remove pests, plant native bush and help increase birdlife in the area behind Southland Hospital (pictured).
Allan McPherson and friend John Tait are two of the people responsible for much of that effort.
The sign will be unveiled at a Southland Ecological Restoration Network autumn field day, and will explain the values of the bush and some of its history, as well as acknowledge the work gone into it.
