COOLER breezes and warmer colours are what autumn has brought Southland so far.
A stroll in Queens Park offers scenes of crimson, gold and amber as leaves fall around you.
The ducks, as always, are happy for the company as they wade and glide through ponds that have caught the fallen leaves.
Autumn is also the height of mushroom season as fungi enjoys the warm, moist environment; Queens Park is an excellent spot to hunt for some interesting specimens.
