HARNESS racing is back at Young Quinn Raceway in Wyndham and what a return it will be.

The Wyndham Harness Racing Club returns to its home track in Wyndham for the first time in more than 12 months on Thursday, April 1.

The return will feature some top class racing with the $25,000 Group 3 Macca Lodge New Zealand Kindergarten Stakes, the $15,000 MLT/Three Rivers Hotel Wyndham Cup Handicap Pace over 3200m and the Cardrona Distillery/MLT 3-year-old Stakes.

Wendonside stud, Macca Lodge, has stepped in to support the NZ Kindergarten Stakes this year as part of its strategy to support breeding while the Milne Family, of Edendale, who have a long association with the club will again donate a trophy, to be presented to the winning connections. The prestigious race has a long and distinguished list of past winners which have gone on to become top line performers.

The race day will start at 2pm giving patrons the opportunity to leave work a little early on what will be the last day of the working week with the Easter holiday starting the next day.

Admission will be free and will be a great opportunity for the local community to turn out in force to support their local club.

For the children, there will be a lolly scramble supported by Mad Cow Coffee.

Groups, marquees and gazebos are encouraged as racing returns to Wyndham.
