Te Anau Summer Golf Classic proves popular

TE ANAU Golf Club has built on its recent Te Anau Mitre 10 Summer Golf Classic, now in its third year.

The tournament was held in perfect conditions last weekend, with American Foursomes on Saturday and 4BBB Nett on Sunday.

Te Anau Golf Club manager Sheree Hemi said 38 teams of two competed including 15 teams from the wider area.

The Summer Golf Classic winning team was Harry Worker, of Gore, and William Du Plessis, of Winton, with a score of 127.

Bruce Collins and Judy King were second with 125, while Nick Jones and Bradley Cross were third with 123.

The club was also encouraging golfers, in teams of three or four, to take part in Twilight Golf every Monday, with tee-off between 5pm-6pm. People could also turn up and join a team.
